Brothers Osborne and Cody Johnson have released a new collaborative track titled "Born and Raised Hell." The song serves as the lead single from the duo's fifth studio album, Watertown, which launched on October 23. The release marks a renewed partnership between the Maryland-based brothers and the Texas native.
The album consists of 11 songs that draw directly from the lives of John and TJ Osborne. The tracklist reflects their upbringing in Deale, Maryland, and the specific experiences that shaped their musical identity. The project aims to reconnect the artists with their local roots and personal history.
This is not the first instance of these artists working together. Earlier this year, the Osborne brothers contributed to Johnson's album Banks of the Trinity. They performed on the track "Fool Proof," establishing a professional rapport that has now culminated in this new duet.
John Osborne, Lee Miller, and Kendell Marvel wrote "Born and Raised Hell." The lyrics focus on childhood mischief and the enduring pride associated with a hometown, regardless of how much time has passed since the artist moved away. The accompanying music video was directed by Nick Swift and filmed in Nashville. The footage features a vintage aesthetic, showing the three performers in a garage setting interspersed with scenes of youthful activities.
The song is available for streaming now. The official music video is also accessible to the public. Country radio stations are scheduled to begin playing the track on November 2. This date marks the official radio impact for the single from the newly released Watertown project.
