Jay-Z will headline the Super Bowl LXI halftime show, a booking announced Monday by the NFL, Apple Music and Roc Nation. The performance is set for Feb. 14, 2027 at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. The 25-time Grammy winner has never performed at a Super Bowl despite his company's long involvement in producing the event.
Roc Nation has produced the halftime show since 2019 and recently signed a five-year extension covering the role through 2029. The company's tenure has shifted the programming toward hip-hop and rap. Last year's show at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California, featured Bad Bunny with Lady Gaga and Ricky Martin joining him on stage.
The last Super Bowl held in Los Angeles, in 2022, featured Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige and Kendrick Lamar, with 50 Cent and Anderson .Paak making cameos. More recent halftime performers include Kendrick Lamar and SZA in 2025, Usher in 2024 and Rihanna in 2023.
Jay-Z has spent 2026 touring to mark the 30th anniversary of his debut studio album "Reasonable Doubt" and the 25th anniversary of "The Blueprint." The Jay-Z 30 Tour opened with three nights at Yankee Stadium in July, moved to two dates in London and one in Paris in September, and closed with Oct. 23 and 24 shows at SoFi Stadium. That venue will host the Super Bowl in February.
The source material does not say whether other performers will join Jay-Z on stage or describe what he plans to perform.
