Tesla has provided its most detailed look yet at the interior technology of its next generation Roadster. The automaker posted a 34 second video on X on Friday afternoon that guides viewers through the vehicle’s digital dashboard. The company described the design as being inspired by fighter jet cockpits and centered entirely around the driver experience.

The primary focus of the software is a dedicated track mode that dominates the user interface. This view displays live data including circuit maps, session lap times, and specific metrics for brake and motor temperatures. Drivers can also monitor pressure and temperature for each individual tire to optimize performance during high speed driving.

The system offers extensive customization for aerodynamic and handling settings. Owners can select from auto, low drag, high downforce, or custom aero modes. The interface also allows for adjustments to aero balance and brake balance, with the ability to switch off stability and traction control for maximum control on a closed course.

A key hardware feature highlighted in the video is the status bar that displays thruster pressure. The readout shows 5,500 PSI alongside a boost ready indicator. This software element connects directly to the cold gas thruster system revealed near Waco, Texas, on October 15. Tesla claims the Thrust and Rocket versions achieve 0 to 60 mph times of under 0.9 seconds and under 0.59 seconds respectively.

The Roadster’s user interface represents a significant departure from Tesla’s current vehicle lineup. Rather than centering a navigation map on the screen, the home page features a 3D wireframe of the car itself. This design allows users to tap specific parts of the model to access controls for the rear wing and charging settings. The company has not indicated whether this telemetry data will be added to the Model 3 Performance or other existing models.

Production of the new vehicle is scheduled to begin in 2028. Reservations are currently open for a $50,000 deposit. The Thrust version is listed as a limited release, while the flagship Rocket model is invite only and has not yet received approval for public road use. The base Performance car utilizes a fan and ground sealing system for grip rather than rocket propulsion.

The public will have its first opportunity to see the vehicle in person this weekend. The Roadster is on display in the lobby of the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles from October 24 to 27. According to Sawyer Merritt, this marks the first time the general public can view the car up close before deliveries begin.
