Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato have released a new beauty product together.

The campaign for Gomez’s Rare Beauty brand is titled “Still Making Each Other Blush.” It introduces the Delena: Soft Pinch Blush Bundle. The name references the nickname fans gave the pair during their Disney Channel fame in the late 2000s. The bundle includes Rare Beauty’s Soft Pinch Liquid Blush in the shades Hope and Virtue. It also contains a Soft Pinch Blush Brush.

The visual elements of the campaign pay homage to the 2009 Disney Channel Original Movie Princess Protection Program. The two actresses co-starred in that film as a fleeing princess and a girl helping her hide. For the launch, the pair released a roughly four-minute video clip. The footage mimics the vlog-style YouTube videos they produced together in 2008. In the new video, they answer questions and recall their go-to red carpet pose. They also lip-sync and dance to the song “One and the Same,” which they recorded for the movie’s soundtrack.

Gomez compared the experience of shooting the music video for that track to feeling like Avril Lavigne. “I felt like that was our moment when we felt like Avril Lavigne,” she said. “We were so into it.” Lovato added that they were also into Kelly Clarkson. “Always Kelly Clarkson,” she said.

The collaboration marks a public reunion for the two former best friends. They met on the set of Barney & Friends as child actors before starring in Wizards of Waverly Place and Camp Rock. Their relationship had grown distant over the years. In May 2020, Lovato told Harper’s Bazaar that she was not close with Gomez. “When you grow up with somebody, you’re always going to have love for them,” Lovato said at the time. “But I’m not friends with her…”

The pair first appeared together in public when Gomez attended a concert on Lovato’s It’s Not That Deep Tour in Orlando in April of this year. Lovato recently spoke to Elle about their current dynamic. She noted that friends are heavily present in lives at times and then not in constant communication. “But Selena is someone that I’ve always loved and adored,” Lovato said. “It’s really great to be in a place today where we can collaborate on things, but also just hang out and spend time together.”

The Delena: Soft Pinch Blush Bundle is currently available on the Rare Beauty website.
