With voting set to conclude next Tuesday, a new model from the Fox News Decision Desk suggests the political map is shifting. The network's latest Power Rankings project a change in leadership for the House of Representatives.

Rémy Numa, a contributor to the desk, stated that Democrats are likely to flip the chamber this November. The analysis predicts the party will secure at least 223 seats. Numa noted that 19 races moved in the Democratic direction over the past week.

The forecast offers different scenarios based on election night results. A good night for Democrats could result in 240 seats. A great night would push that number to 252. The model currently places Republicans with 195 seats in their column. A strong performance for the GOP would lift that total to around 212.

Numa explained that 212 seats is six short of a majority. He said this number would still make life difficult for the next Democratic House Speaker. The Speaker would have to balance the demands of moderate and far-left members of the party.

The Senate race remains a toss-up according to the same report. Numa wrote that voters could give Democrats a majority with several seats to spare. They could also let Republicans keep control. The GOP currently holds 53 Senate seats. Democrats hold 45, with two independents. Democrats need 51 seats for a majority because Vice President JD Vance holds the tiebreaking vote.
