The Class 6A high school football regular season in Minnesota concluded on Friday night, capping a week of decisive outcomes across the state.
In Roseville, the Raiders defeated Coon Rapids 24-14 to claim the Metro Maroon subdistrict title. The result improved Roseville’s record to 4-4, marking its best finish since 2017. Senior quarterback Chase Browning accounted for 162 passing yards and three touchdown passes. "It's an amazing feeling," Browning said. "I don't even have words for it. We've all worked so hard. It's great to see it finally paying off."
Other results shifted the competitive balance in the East Metro. Centennial defeated Anoka 38-6, a score that likely guarantees the Cougars a No. 3 seed in the Class 6A playoffs. Anoka was held to single digits for the first time this season. Mounds View took sole possession of the Metro East title by defeating White Bear Lake 22-16. Tanner Jude scored on a one-yard run with 65 seconds remaining, and a successful two-point conversion extended the lead. Preston Johnson intercepted a pass on the next possession to close the game. The Mounds View defense limited White Bear Lake quarterback Wyatt Stachowiak to six completions on 24 attempts.
East Ridge beat Woodbury 42-31, with Logan Tretter rushing for two scores and Elias Mather returning an interception for a late touchdown. In Forest Lake, running back Mack Jurkovich rushed for 245 yards and two touchdowns as the Rangers defeated Stillwater 31-13. The win secured a No. 2 seed for Forest Lake. Jurkovich, who has committed to St. Thomas, finished the regular season with 1,600 rushing yards. Park defeated Eastview 18-10, with junior receiver Manny Vargas catching a touchdown pass and returning a punt 75 yards for a score.
The final play of the night occurred in the south metro, where Lakeville South defeated Rosemount 17-14. Sophomore kicker Dylan Nelson made a 36-yard field goal with one second left. The upset complicates the seeding picture for the Class 6A playoffs in that region.
The regular season schedule is now complete for all Class 6A teams. Playoff matchups will be determined based on the final standings and the seeds secured by teams such as Roseville, Centennial, and Forest Lake.
