Shoppers can buy solar-powered smart bird feeders from Birdfy and Kiwibit at reduced prices starting today. The early Black Friday discounts range from 26 percent to 29 percent off list prices. A reviewer who has tested these devices since 2020 recommends the hardware as a viable gift or personal purchase at these price points.

The lowest price in the lineup is $110 for a Birdfy feeder model without a solar panel. The top recommendation is the original Birdfy feeder equipped with a solar panel, which is listed at $127. That price represents a 29 percent discount, but the offer applies only to the blue version of the device. The yellow version costs $13 more.

The reviewer notes that the solar panel mounts separately and advises paying the $17 premium over the non-solar model. Birdfy’s panels have proven reliable in testing and prevent owners from needing to bring the feeder indoors for charging. The device supports 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi and includes a two-year warranty.

A second deal covers the Kiwibit Feeder 2 with a solar roof, priced at $170. This is also a 29 percent discount. The model is not the company’s newest unit, which is the Feeder 2 Pro at $220, but the reviewer calls the standard version well designed. The 1.5-liter seed hopper is split to hold two types of feed and lifts out of the body by a handle, eliminating the need to remove the entire unit for refilling.

The Kiwibit Feeder 2 captures 8-megapixel photos and 4K video. The reviewer rates this image quality as top-tier for the price point. The solar roof maintained a charge in various weather conditions during testing. The app functions without a Kiwibit Plus subscription, though the reviewer observed that more features are moving behind the paywall. The unit works on 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi and carries a one-year warranty.

The third option is the Kiwibit 4K Feeder with auxiliary solar, available for $140. That represents a 26 percent discount. It uses the same camera and hardware as the Feeder 2 but lacks the built-in solar roof. The included 3-watt solar panel attaches to the back of the wall mount. Buyers seeking Kiwibit build quality can save $30 by choosing this model over the solar roof version.

Most smart feeders now offer high-resolution cameras and AI bird identification that rarely miss a target. The 5-7-9 rule for pole mounts helps keep squirrels away and reduces necessary maintenance beyond refilling seed.
